TCHS Interact Club Promotes “Service Above Self”

Our International Action club, better known as the Interact Club, is a service organization for the Timber Creek community. Their motto is “Service Above Self.” The Club offers two service projects a month for its members, a great way to get service hours for NHS, green cords, or college applications.

The Club is completely service oriented, no strings attached.

“Interact Club is focused on only service,” senior Simbarashe Masando says.

The members say they love to be around other people that enjoy doing service, giving back to the community, and are always trying to do whatever they can to help the student body.

Senior and President of the club, Anna Mueller, is dedicated to finding service projects for the club to help out with.

Mueller is working to get service projects started to help people around the world by teaming up with organizations like the Sower of Seeds, an organization built to help communities in India, to send supplies and raise money for them to build clean water centers and build up small communities. Looking to the future, the club is also trying to finalize a service trip to Mexico for maintenance work of schools there.

The Interact Club is a branch of the Keller Rotary Club specifically for high school students. The focus of both organizations is community outreach, or community service. The members are beginning to network all the Interact clubs in KISD so that they can organize bigger service projects and positively impact more people. Its not to late to join the Interact Club, see Ms. Taylor at room S217.
