The Timber Creek powerlifting boys are the 2016 Keller ISD League Champions. They came in first place with a total of 43 points, Keller came in second with a total of 37 points, Central in third with a total of 36 points and Fossil Ridge with a total of 32 points. The Falcons had four first place finishers, one second place finisher, three third place finishers and a fifth place finish.
From the list above, Koji Mendoza placed first in his weight class of 148 lbs. benching 345 lbs., Joel Sarralde placed second in his weight class of 165 lbs. and benched 370 lbs. Evan Briestensky placed third in his weight class of 165 lbs. benching 315 lbs., Charlie Hampton placed third in his weight class of 181 lbs. and benched 365 lbs. Eloi Bigirimana placed first in his weight class of 198 lbs., benching 500 lbs.
Jerome Jackson placed third in his weight class of 198 lbs., benching 405 lbs. Jackson Worley placed fifth in his weight class of 198 lbs., benching 380 lbs, Tanner Oliver placed first in his weight class of 220 lbs., benching 525 lbs, Alan Ali placed first in his weight class of 275 lbs., benching 400 pounds.

“Deadlifting 480 [pounds] was like becoming a Super Saiyan Goku,” Koji Mendoza said.
The Girl’s Powerlifting Team who consisted of Nicole Mendoza, Tamires Berzin, Kya Charron and Emily Daniel set personal records throughout the season. Berzin, Daniel and Charron all qualified for the Regional Powerlifitng Meet that was held Feb. 5.
Charron benched 250 lbs and broke the regional record for the 181 lbs weight class. Daniel also set a new bench press record, benching 200 lbs. for the 198 lbs.weight class. Daniel placed first in the region in the 198 lbs. weight class, Berzin placed sixth in the 181 lbs. weight class and Charron placed second in the region in the 181 lbs. weight class.
Emily Daniel and Kya Charron have qualified for the state powerlifting meet held in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 18.
