Timber Creek’s one-act play, Silent Sky, placed as an alternate to the State UIL One-Act Play meet, putting them in the top 12 of the 6A conference. 1,240 one-act play entries were submitted across all conferences.
In addition to placing as an alternate, several cast and crew members were recognized. Caroline Norton received the award for All-Star Cast Member, Rylee Jones and Austin Klopfenstein won awards for Honorable Mention All-Star Cast, and Jacob Galloway won the award for Outstanding Technician.
When asked about how it felt to have come as far as Silent Sky did, theatre director Amanda Brundrett said, “We are immensely proud of our company on reaching new heights for the theatre department this year. It is such a testament to their hard work and dedication.”
Silent Sky was the first one-act play in Timber Creek history to make it as far as they did. Brundrett went on to say that working with the company was a highlight of her year.
“They are so talented and hard-working,” she said. “Being able to see how they developed and craft the show was a true delight and so rewarding.”
