TCHS History Club Hopes to Make History with Book Drive

The TCHS History Club is having its first book drive from Feb. 21 to March 3. All donations will go to the Friends at the Keller Public Library. Anyone can donate, and books of all kinds are accepted, from children’s books to study books and everything in between. Through this, History Club hopes to stimulate reading in all levels of education. Their goal is to collect three books per Timber Creek student, although donating is not mandatory.

“We want students to have physical books,” said Hannah Horden. “I prefer hardback to books, anyways.”

All book donations can be dropped off to Ben Metcalf’s classroom in S210 or with any English or Social Studies class.

“After all,” said History Club sponsor, Ben Metcalf, “there’s no better way to convey the History Club motto: ‘It’s a long story.'”

Though she's a senior, this is Sarah's first year on Talon. Since she's in the Varsity Mixed choir, she hopes to write some stories in that area, but her main goal is to help the typical Timber Creek student feel less confused about this beautiful place called high school. All the same, she's still a fiction nerd, as proven by her involvement in TCHS Creative Writing stuff and her intent to most definitely publish her novel.
