Vote for February’s Teacher of the Month

Cast your vote for one of these nominated teachers to be Timber Creek’s February Teacher of the Month.

CTE
TCHS teacher Kathy Beers continually goes above and beyond expectations.  It’s clearly evident by awards received by her TCHS Yearbook staff, such as the All American Yearbook Award but what many don’t realize is her creativeness and willingness to jump in   Recently, Mrs. Beers was asked to help add some color and spirit to the TCHS campus and in her usual fashion she quickly jumped in and most definitely delivered.  The banners and photos lining up the main hallway really capture the spirit of TCHS and help bring a sense of pride to the campus.  We are really honored to have Kathy at TCHS!

English
Cerissa Johnson is adept at balancing classroom, team lead, and National Honor Society duties.  She is a learner who always looks for new and better ways to do “school.”  Her students appreciate her organization, although sometimes they don’t realize it until later.  Her willingness to lead campus PD and work with district curriculum development takes extra time, but she does so with enthusiasm.

Fine Arts
Chad Mason- Chad’s passion for all that our drumline is involved with and their competition season is amazing. His energy for making our percussion the best it can be is contagious! I am so proud to work with him!

Math
Michelle Wheeler is an Algebra 1 teacher that works with students in and out of class.  Always finding new methods to reach those students who struggle with the content.

Science
Karen Bates-Scull came to TCHS as a rookie teacher but she jumped in with both feet and embraced the classroom adventure with the heart of a true educator. More often than not, you will catch her class out of the classroom doing “physics” as she brings to life the principles and concepts of physics for her student. ELM, foldables, hands-on, Rube Goldberg, if it is a student centered, research proven method, Mrs. Scull will be doing it. But the thing that sets her a notch above is her love for her students. Attending their football games, drama productions, encouraging them through Twitter and just giving them a smile of affirmation are things Mrs. Scull does…all as a part of a day in the life of a TCHS teacher.

Social Studies
Ms. Ashcraft has been a vital part of the Social Studies Department since she joined us from the English Department. She has developed an incredibly successful AP Psychology program over the past few years. Her students continually praise her passion for the subject, and how she make the course relevant and interesting. Ms. Ashcraft’s course has become one of the most sought out electives for our student body, and much of that is driven by her ability to relate to her students and inspire them. The popularity of Ms. Ashcraft’s course is impressive, but the level of her students’ success on the AP exam is second to none in our department. Ms. Ashcraft is fully deserving of recognition for being one of Timber Creek’s outstanding teachers.

Special Education
Donna Flood supports many of our students in their core classes.  She is extremely patient and she enjoys working with a variety of students.  Mrs. Flood is always willing to help out when we need an extra set of hands. She tries a variety of strategies with her students until she finds one that is successful.  We are lucky to have her on our team!

World Languages/AVID
Connie Stucker teaches American Sign Language and sponsors the ASL club.  She helps organize students who sign the national anthem at pep rallies and games.  Connie is an excellent teacher who challenges her students on a daily basis.  Her kids love her!
