Scholastic Art Winners Receive Awards

Students from grades 7-12 are eligible to submit to the contest, which is judged on originality, skill, and personal voice. Gold key medalist are automatically entered into national, professional judging. These entries can win a National Medal and an invitation to the awards ceremony in New York City. In addition, they are considered for opportunities presented by the Alliance of Young Artists and Writers.

The results came in February and this is what Timber Creek students won:

Andrew Bau: 1 Silver Key, 1 Honorable Mention
Danna Mejia: 1 Silver Key, 1 Honorable Mention
Katie Roose: 1 Honorable Mention
Sandy Lo: 1 Honorable Mention
Cydnie Jones: 1 Honorable Mention
Lindsay Garner: 1 Honorable Mention
Emily Ghizzoni: 1 Honorable Mention
Kamron Goppfarth: 1 Honorable Mention
Karson Goppfarth: 1 Honorable Mention

Though she's a senior, this is Sarah's first year on Talon. Since she's in the Varsity Mixed choir, she hopes to write some stories in that area, but her main goal is to help the typical Timber Creek student feel less confused about this beautiful place called high school. All the same, she's still a fiction nerd, as proven by her involvement in TCHS Creative Writing stuff and her intent to most definitely publish her novel.
