The week of April 24-28th, Timber Creek will be celebrating deaf awareness week.
Here are some of the events planned by the American Sign Language (ASL) Club:
- Monday, April 24th, there will be a Kahoot game to be played during lunches.
- Tuesday, April 25th, there will be a guest speaker (who is Deaf) in the lecture hall to present her story to ASL students. All current and former ASL students are invited to attend only if they have the permission of their 1st period teacher.
- Wednesday, April 26th, wear orange and black to represent the school colors of the American School for the Deaf, the first deaf school opened in America.
- Thursday, April 27th, videos will be played of ASL students performing songs in sign language during lunches.
- Friday, April 28th, ASL club students will hand out candy to students that come and show them a sign or tell them a fact that they have learned throughout the week.
