National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is planning events this May to honor artists and raise funds for a graduating senior.
NAHS is hosting a silent auction from May 5 to May 12.
“All students, whether in art or not, are encouraged to donate their artwork to the auction,” said NAHS President Emily Ghizzoni. While personal artwork is both accepted and appreciated, it is important to remember that any submissions should be school appropriate. Donations should be delivered to Ms. Fitch’s room (FA 105) by Apr. 17.
The artwork submitted for the silent auction will be displayed in the TCHS lobby, where students and faculty will be able to write their name, phone number, and bid on a paper by any particular piece of artwork they admire. The winners of the auction will be notified by phone during the week of May 15. All proceeds from the event will help provide a scholarship for a senior NAHS member majoring in art.
NAHS members have also been very busy working to set up their induction ceremony, which will take place on May 5. At this event, they will be honoring NAHS seniors, VASE awards, and other art competitions throughout the year.
“While is hosted by NAHS,” said Ghizzoni via email,”the entire art department is honored at this event.”
