Students needing to make up seat time for the last six weeks of the spring semester have a few options to complete the hours before Sept. 15, when seat time is due.
Students who were notified and given their owed hours the week of May 22 are expected to complete their assigned seat time with their corresponding teachers.
Due to the updated seat time policy, students may only fulfill the requested hours with the teacher of the class they missed. For second, third, and fourth, period classes, you may only have 4 absences before you are given seat time and for first and fifth period classes, you may only have 9 absences.
Additionally, you must stay for the entire hour of tutorials to receive full credit for an hour of seat time. No seat time hours will be served in the library.
In order to receive a parking pass for the 2017-2018 school year, you have to clear out all your seat time and any fines that you have.
Distribution of seat time handouts came with some instructions and options to help students meet their attendance requirements. Students may attend the recently added Falcon Night School, on Tuesday, May 30, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Emily Boehringer facilitating. Students are recommended to bring homework to the sessions to gain fair credit.
If students are not able to complete seat time hours before the end of the 2016-2017 school year, they have another option as well. During the first two weeks of summer break, students can contact their assigned assistant principal or counselor to arrange a time to come make up hours.
Due to the early release days, seat time may be made up on Thursday, June 1, and Friday, June 2, from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. by setting up a time with assistant principal, Shawn Elliot.
