DOI: Alterations to Planning are Made to Best Meet Needs of Students

Students will be able to earn the credit through engaging forms of education that accommodates their situation, even if they are not physically at school for the 90 percent of the time.
Another revised rule is Certified Employee Contract Rights. This concerns a second probationary year for teachers hired under the five of eight rule and these teachers, if found to have violated the Educator Code of Conduct, will be suspended without pay.
The Board of Trustees will be able to hire a teacher who does not have the pertinent certification, so long as it is in the best interest of the district.
KISD plans to also explore the length of the school day while discussing the District of Innovation, or DOI planning.
The DOI plan would remove the individual Campus Behavior Coordinator at each campus and allow campuses to have teams available to manage their behavior.
DAEP is designed as a disciplinary placement for students — but current problems prove that it lacks the efficiency needed for a student’s education.
