Dual Credit Informational Meeting Jan. 25

As students are beginning to select their classes for the next school year, the question of whether students  should enroll in a Dual Credit course arises. Often overlooked by the more popular Advanced Placement program, dual credit is another great option for those looking to gain college credits while still in high school.

An informational meeting on the program will be hosted by the Timber Creek Counseling department on Thursday, Jan. 25 in the Fine Arts Center. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the meeting is open for both parents and students to attend and learn more about what KISD offers through TCC and UT OnRamps.

“I work my kids like they are at a four-year college. They are the stars of Dual Credit English,” said Professor Christopher Harold, who has maintained his title as one of the top ranked professors at TCC and strongly encourages students to enroll in dual credit classes.

Sophomores and juniors curious about taking dual classes for the fall of 2018 are strongly encouraged to attend this informational meeting and consider the benefits and drawbacks of both Dual Credit and AP courses so as to choose the best option to fit their needs as they look ahead to gaining a higher education.
