On Feb. 2, 2018 the Timber Creek Swim team is set to attend the Region 1 6A Championship meet in Lubbock, TX. Prelims and Finals for the competition will take place at Pete Ragus Aquatic Center on both Feb. 2-3, where Timber Creek will compete in a total of 14 events. The team qualified for a total of three relays (both girls and boys) and eight individual events.

Additional competitors include, Nathaniel Hicks (10), Carolyn Kosek (10), Anna Lee (9), Pierce Phrasavath (11) and Sidney Delgado (12)
“It’s my senior year and I’m excited to go out there and give it my all for my last meet” said Delgado “Our team has worked really hard this season for this moment and several of our younger swimmers have an amazing chance to make state.”
“I’m really excited for this year because I’m usually the youngest on the team” recalls junior Karson Gopffarth “Now that we have so many talented freshmen and sophomores, I get to be a leader and example to the amazing people that have joined the family we’ve made.”
During Prelims on Friday, if the team places within the top 16 in their events they will move on to Finals on Saturday. Top two finishers will automatically advance to State and the next top eight fastest times from all regions will be called up to State as well.
The Falcons qualified for Regions based upon the times logged at the District Meet on Jan. 20, 2018 which broke several school records and set new personal records for the team overall. Overall the young team has flourished throughout the season with several of their freshmen and sophomore swimmers placing as District Champions and continuing to surpass their own records each meet.
The team is set to once again have great success at the Regional meet and continue to break records creating historical moments for the team as a whole.
