The Impact, a student-run community service organization is hosting a women’s wellness drive beginning Monday, Jan. 29, and will continue for three weeks. The goal by the end of the drive is to make period care packages, and donate them to a local women’s shelter.
Things one can donate include boxes of tampons, pads, panty liners, menstrual cups, and nut-free chocolate. Money can also be donated, as The Impact also plans to put ibuprofen in the care packages, but ibuprofen cannot be donated directly due to district policy. The Impact also asks that students refrain from donating a single menstrual product, due to sanitation and convenience purposes. Starting Monday, select teachers will be holding boxes in their room, in which students can donate.
