On Thursday, April 19, the interact club opened their little library. According to AP World history teacher and Interact club sponsor, Melissa West, the library was able to be filled with books and painted due to the sponsorship by the Keller Rotary Club.
It’s an opportunity for both the students of Timber Creek and Caprock to join together and take and leave, books for others to read. The Interact Club created this little library to promote literacy in the community and build a connection between Caprock and Timber Creek. Not only is it for students of the respective schools, but it’s also available for anyone in the community to use.
“It has taken a lot of effort to build the structure, paint it, coordinate a book drive, and discuss with the City of Fort Worth approving the project placement, but we finally finished it and we are excited to share,” said West via email.
It has taken the Interact Club close to the entire 2017-18 school year to produce. The little library is planted along Grey Twig Drive, on Caprock’s side, and Timberland Blvd.
“We’re very excited about the opportunities that this brings for the interact club on campus, and everybody is welcome to join,” said West.
