On Saturday, Nov. 3, the Timber Creek Marching Band competed at the Bands of America Super Regional Competition in San Antonio, TX. The band placed 17th out of the 84 bands that competed in the Alamodome with a score of 89.025. This was the last performance of “From the Ground Up” the band will ever perform, making it an emotional one for many of the varsity members.
“Entering the field, I was very nervous and very excited at the same time,” says senior snare drum player Daniel Mejia, “I love everyone that I play with and just being a part of the band has brought a lot of good things into my life.”
This years show holds a special place in many of the seniors hearts, as three years ago they competed in their first Bands of America Contest. The band truly has come “From the Ground Up” since then, and there is no sign of them stopping their growth anytime soon.
