On Friday, April 17, Texas Governor Greg Abbott amended his Executive Order calling for all schools to remain closed in the state of Texas through the end of the 2019-2020 school year. For Keller ISD facilities, this means that all events and activities are cancelled through the end of May.
According to the KISD Communications team, online learning and meal service will continue through the official last day of school on Thursday, May 21.
Furthermore, alternate dates for the Class of 2020’s prom and graduation can be found by clicking here. According to the KISD Communications team, these dates are confirmed, but will be contingent on local restrictions regarding mass gatherings being lifted.
“We will continue to discuss plans for summer school and other June activities in the coming days with announcements made as the status of summer activities are confirmed,” the team explained in an email.
For the time being, it is encouraged to continue following the recommendations of Tarrant County Public Health, as well as to stay home, and practice social distancing.
“While this was not the ideal way to end the school year, our Keller ISD community has continued to show its strength and support throughout this time,” the communications team concluded the email. “We are proud of our students, employees, and families and look forward to being together again in the 2020-21 school year as One Keller ISD Family.”

Among events impacted by this extended closure are Keller ISD’s high school graduation ceremonies. Keller ISD has secured Saturday, July 25, as our make-up graduation date at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. Graduation times are as follows:
Central High School | 8 a.m.
Fossil Ridge High School | 12 p.m.
Keller High School | 4 p.m.
