Given the extenuating circumstances of the COVID school year, the application deadline for Health Ambassadors for a Ready Cause has been extended to Friday, Sept. 11.
HART is a leadership opportunity created by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) for students in the 9-11th grade. It gives students the opportunity to work closely with their school’s nutrition teams and connects them with resources and support to promote healthy eating through school nutritional programs.
These student ambassadors will:
- Participate in activities that promote healthy eating and Texas agriculture among their peers
- Promote the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs
- Provide state officials with feedback and recommendations for improving school nutrition programs
- Join a network of Health Ambassadors across the state of Texas
