This year, the Timber Creek band had 20 students make All Region and 14 make Freshman Region, making 34 students total.
This year, the Timber Creek Fine Arts Department is bringing back sound painting, but on a whole new level than its first appearance in 2015.
With 68 bands from all over Texas coming together to compete in what is arguably the hardest marching band contest in the country, the Timber Creek band made its first appearance at the contest Saturday Nov. 4
Stephen Evans is the vocal director for the school’s musical, has been involved in church work as a music minister, and has a deep passion for baking, all while teaching high school choir.
Beginning Sept. 21 several colleges will be visiting Timber Creek for students to meet and ask questions.
Many viewers of the marching show only see the final product on the field, but the amount of tasks that happen behind the scenes is tremendous. From an online music pass-off program, an app used for learning drill, an intricate sound system and a whole staff of people hired for a number of different reasons, all of the behind-the-scenes action that goes into an eight-minute performance is quite time consuming.
On top of over 3,000 schedules to put together, there were over 151 transfer students that needed to be enrolled. That being said, it was impossible to get everything done before the first day of the school year. It was then decided that 26 new Timber Creek attendees were to be held from enrolling and attending school until the end of August.
Student Council is still accepting members up until Sept. 1.
On Monday, May 8, Kayla Warren, a fourth year band director at Timber Creek, conducted her last concert ever on the Timber Creek stage.
