A new virus called the Coronavirus has arisen in Wuhan, China and is now spreading to other parts of the world, including the United States. Coronavirus has thousands of confirmed cases worldwide and has killed at least 80 people thus far.
The swim and dive team showcased their hard work and dedication by performing strongly at the district and region meets. The UIL District meet took place at the Keller ISD Natatorium on Jan. 17 and 18 whereas the UIL Region meet took place in Lubbock at the Pete Ragus Aquatic Center from Jan. 30 through Feb. 1.
A scholarship opportunity by the University of Christian Church is offering to seniors attending any high school in Tarrant County. The scholarship is $10,000 to “any accredited college” and will be divided to $2,500 each year.
The swim meet that all swimmers look forward to from their first stroke as a high school swimmer to their last is the Senior meet. Occurring on Jan. 9 at the Natatorium, all the senior swimmers were recognized and their future plans revealed.
With the month of January comes the return of the swim and dive district meet which will determine who moves on to the next level of competition for the state meet. The divers will compete in their district meet at the Natatorium on Friday, Jan. 17 at 5 p.m. while the swimmers will race in their meet the next day Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3:30 p.m.
Talks of Trump’s impeachment have been a common whisper for years, but in light of recent events, they became a reality. Trump faced impeachment on Dec. 18, 2019 and is now awaiting a vote from Congress that will decide if he stays in office or not.
The swim season has finally taken off after a very late start. A predicted two-week construction delay turned into five weeks of demolition at the natatorium which forced swimmers all over the district to find new methods of working out.
The Keller ISD district and campus offices will be closed from Monday, Nov. 25 through Friday, Nov. 29 due to the Thanksgiving holiday break.
HOSA will be hosting their annual fall blood drive in conjunction with Carter BloodCare on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m in the Small Gym.
NAHS will host a ‘Knit Your Own Chunky Infinity Scarf’ fundraiser on Wednesday, Nov. 13 in room FA 108 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It costs $15 to participate.
