There’s been a slight change up in the UIL District alignment for the 2020-2022 seasons. Denton Guyer has been moved to a different district, while the rest of Creek’s opponents remain untouched.
On Aug. 16, past and future Timber Creek golfers, Olivia and Samantha Gibbs, were featured on NBC 5 to promote First Tee, a low cost camp to teach children how to play golf and teach life lessons through the sport.
Golf team tryouts will be early in the week of July 29 at Horse Golf Course. Tryouts will begin sometime between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. depending on the golfers set tee time. Tee times will be assigned to each golfer come closer to tryouts. Golfers who wish to tryout must participate both days of tryouts.
From the first days of August till now, the Timber Creek Golf Team has practiced for seemingly endless hours to improve year-round.
This year, the team plans to conquer the standards set by last year’s team and take it one step further, advancing to the state tournament.
Coming out of their district tournament with both boys and girls varsity teams taking third place, the golf team has had a seemingly successful season, with key senior Lauren Wallace bound for the regional tournament as a single player.
With five senior student-athletes from basketball, track, swimming and golf, the Timber Creek High School Spring Signing took place on Wednesday, April 11, at 3 p.m. during fifth period.
Blake Arnold, a marketing teacher for Timber Creek has a past that is marked by the PGA experience.
On Wednesday, Feb. 7, eight students will participate in National Signing Day this year at 3:00 p.m. in the main gym.
